A Romantic Elawa Farm Wedding
This late-summer Elawa Farm wedding is really what wedding photographers’ dreams are made of. Elawa Farm is a wedding venue in Lake Forest, Illinois which boasts the perfect balance between vintage and rustic. Since it is not exclusively a wedding venue, the authenticity is unmatched. During this wedding, the rolling hills boasted vines ripe with tomatoes, and gardens bursting with green. As a gardener myself, I love the organic growing programs & education Elawa Farm facilitates. If you enjoy quaint, rustic venues with tons of charm, you will love this Elawa Farm wedding. Christie looked absolutely beautiful in her romantic, free-flowing dress. It complimented the organic surroundings beautifully. Prep for the day was held at nearby Deer Path Inn, which has such a homey, vintage feel to compliment the Elawa Farm wedding vibe. As guests arrived, they talked, laughed, and played croquet in the courtyard. Adorable wooden chairs faced the wide-open land behind Elawa Farm to create a beautiful wedding ceremony backdrop. The sky couldn’t seem to decide between storm & sunshine, which actually created some of the most beautiful lighting I’ve seen to date. The sun shone on these two as they said their vows, and came out to create beautiful warmth during portraits. Just wait until you see those dramatic clouds in the sky, too. I love how intimate the reception was, as well. The grand banquet table hosted farm greenery & beautiful place settings. Christie & Simon’s wedding reception consisted of wine pairings and incredible food by Chef Charles Webb. And when I say incredible, I mean it. This was truly some of the most incredible food I’ve tasted — not just at a wedding, but ever. The whole day throughout this Elawa Farm Wedding was fun, laid-back, intimate, and simply beautiful. And yes, though it sprinkled for a few minutes, the rain held off for the most part. And granted us a double rainbow for some of the most incredible wedding photos, to date. Please enjoy.
