A French Bulldog Wedding in Wisconsin
I know, I know. Weddings are about the bride & groom. Gabby & Joe organized a beautiful wedding at The Landing 1841 in Burlington, Wisconsin. Gabby was, as you’re about to see, stunning. Joe’s reaction to Gabby & heartfelt vows melted everyone’s hearts. But Poppy. Dear, sweet little Poppy, the French Bulldog. I’m not going to say she stole the show, but she took this French Bulldog wedding to a whole new level. It’s no wonder French Bulldogs are all the rage. Their sweet little short faces are out-cuted only by their adorable personality. Poppy is the sweetest little, girl, and she was so eager to help out during her mom & dad’s French Bulldog wedding. Every step she takes is overflowing with love, and her wiggly butt could hardly handle how happy she was all day long. I think there might be one or two other French Bulldog weddings out there. I know I’m a little biased, but I think that this little pup made this French Bulldog wedding the best of them all.
The Landing 1841 Wedding with a French Bulldog
I’ve photographed other weddings at The Landing 1841 before, which probably comes as no surprise. For wedding photographers like me who love candid, laid-back weddings at beautiful venues, it’s a breeze. However, this is the first dog wedding I got to photograph at The Landing 1841. So, naturally, I was instantly obsessed. Other than the fact that it was a French Bulldog wedding, there were gorgeous details at every turn. The style of this French Bulldog wedding was something like a beautiful fairytale wedding in the woods. The decor was whimsical, natural, and reminiscent of a celebration fairies might throw among the trees. I love the tangled fairy lights in geode candle hurricanes, and antiques stacked on moss in the centerpieces. It’s a little difficult to describe since it’s a gentle diversion from the beaten path of wedding decor, but that’s exactly why I loved it. I always encourage every one of my couples to get creative and make their wedding day their own. Between the decor, the color scheme, and the inclusion of Poppy the French Bulldog, this wedding did exactly that.
French Bulldog Wedding Reception
The Landing 1841 always hosts stunning wedding receptions. In case you’re not familiar: the venue is a shabby chic renovated barn with massive ceilings and beautiful chandeliers. As mentioned previously, the fairytale theme carried inside as well with the centerpieces and floral decor. I love how Gabby & Joe styled their sweetheart table. The setup includes a tufted love seat, and pink curtains dripping in eucalyptus as the backdrop. Poppy the French Bulldog had to turn in before the wedding reception (it’s exhausting being so cute all day), but a fantastic time was had nonetheless. This French Bulldog wedding in Wisconsin was a blast to photograph, and it’s sure to inspire many doggy weddings in the future!
