Morton Arboretum Wedding
Man, it feels good to blog again! Kicking off 2018 wedding features with this gorgeous Morton Arboretum wedding in northeast Illinois. This venue has tons of acreage and priceless historic charm. Between the woods, mansions, and gorgeous light festival, this Chicago area wedding venue is in a league of its own. I can’t think of any other couple I would rather photograph here than Mary Grace and Mike, either. These two bring their own classic beauty to the table (just wait till you see MG as a bride. like… unREAL) and reflect the beautiful, down-to-earth vibe of the surroundings perfectly.
Morton Arboretum Wedding Photography
Mary Grace and Mike are also just about the cutest couple you’ll ever see. I had a blast taking classy, moody, romantic portraits of Mary Grace in the Morton Mansion. The wedding photography potential was limitless. However, I couldn’t help but smile along as soon as we got these two together. The same bride who lends such gorgeous, high-fashion style bridal portraiture, just as perfectly took adorable, giggly photos with the groom. Long story short, as far as Morton Arboretum wedding photography goes, it was pretty much impossible to go wrong. Some of my favorite photography locations at this Morton Arboretum wedding were the historic Morton Mansion itself, the wooded acreage all across the arboretum property, and especially, the tall golden grass in front of the setting sun. Check out the herringbone wood floors and gorgeous lattice-glass windows in the Morton library, especially. (Can you tell I’m a historic home design junkie? This Morton Arboretum wedding was basically heaven for me. 😉 )
Morton Arboretum Wedding Reception
I had a blast photographing this Morton Arboretum wedding reception – especially with Sound By Design rocking the ultimate party all night long. They’re the foolproof, go-to wedding dj company in Milwaukee for sure, so was super stoked to hear they’d be at this Chicago wedding with me, too. Sound By Design transforms spaces with their beautiful uplighting, and this Morton Arboretum wedding reception was no exception. The maroon & purple uplighting created a party atmosphere to compliment the burgundy accent color throughout the wedding. I’m also crazy about some of the first-dance photos we got utilizing the spotlight at the dj stand. Purely. Dreamy. I’m not sure there will ever be another Morton Arboretum wedding as beautiful as this one, so please enjoy!
If you enjoyed this northeast Illinois wedding photography, don’t forget to check out some of my other favorite venues in the Chicago area, as well! Between Danada House and the Signature Room downtown, it’s impossible to pick. 😉
